Since our establishment in 2010, AFSRA has been committed to advancing the science and practice of regional anesthesia across Africa and beyond. Through our annual congresses, workshops, and educational initiatives, we strive to equip anesthesiologists and healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care.

A significant milestone in our journey was hosting the World Congress of Regional Anesthesia in Cape Town in 2014—a proud moment that underscored our growing international presence and dedication to excellence.

AFSRA welcomes anesthesiologists, physicians, and researchers from all disciplines who are involved in or interested in regional anesthesia techniques—whether in surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, or pain management. As our society continues to grow, we remain focused on fostering collaboration, innovation, and scientific exchange.
