Welcome to African Society for Regional Anesthesia (AFSRA)

The African Society for Regional Anesthesia (AFSRA) is dedicated to improving African patient care by advancing the science and practice of Regional Anesthesia. AFSRA is an interdisciplinary organization whose members are involved in the provision of Regional Anesthesia.

AFSRA was founded in 210 to further regional anesthesia in Africa, since that year the society has gone from strength to strength. Also since its date of founding, AFSRA's achievements have made it an important voice in the region and the foremost advocate for all patients who require anesthesia or relief from pain.

The society is still growing, and has now established a strong track record through AFSRA Annual Congresses and Workshops. AFSRA holds several workshops and courses each year and offers online educational content through AFSRA’s website and digital channels through the internet.

We continue to educate Professionals, officials and organizations regarding our area of expertise, we must take ownership of our speciality, promote well developed research and continue to expand our mission in the public and professional arena.

Through our local and regional educational, advisory activities, peer-reviewed publications and with the help of our colleagues in Egypt and surrounding African countries, we make your voice heard where it needs to be heard.

"At AFSRA, there's a place for everyone from every corner of anesthesia and the world."
